On Jan. 19 the museum opened with a wine and cheese reception which drew more than 50 guests, including City Council members and administrators. The museum contains airline and aviation history, the history of Glenn Hammond Curtiss, known as the father of naval aviation. The museum also includes information and pictures of the early years of Hialeah, Miami Springs and Opa-locka, all of which were founded by Curtiss.
