History, Specialized

The main purpose of the museum is to provide education for the citizens of Texas in the history of firearms, the positive impact firearms have had in the development of Texas and this country, the safe handling of firearms, and the beneficial aspects of firearms ownership and their use for sporting and other purposes.

The centerpiece of our educational efforts will be the museum collection itself and related lectures, demonstrations, seminars, hands-on learning exhibits, oral history events, and publications.

We plan on appealing to three types of visitors: the general public, firearms enthusiasts, and serious collectors and researchers.
