Artifact Collections

Relative small collection of artifacts as our exhibit hall is rather small (former bank lobby). Most important items are original 1709 copy of John Lawson's book A New Voyage to Carolina and a collection of bullets and other items from the Civil War Battle of Bentonville (March 1865).

Research Collections

Our strength are our research collections, including microfilm copies of old newspapers and county records, lots of files on family histories, and numerous files on various subjects related to local history.

Programs

Our "Roadshow" circulates throughout Johnston County, visiting senior-citizen centers and school classrooms where we talk local history and solicit stories and artifacts from citizens.
