"The evidence reveals their presence, and the wind whispers their story"!
Ten thousand years ago, long before Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull, Red Cloud and Little Big Man, people of the Alberta Culture hunted the lands of northwest Nebraska. Armed with stone tools, a band of Alberta Culture paleo indains stalked, then slaughtered 600 bison and insured their winter's survival. Today the area is known as the Hudson-Meng Bison Kill Site and Museum. Visitors here feel the spirit of these early hunters.
The large bone concentration began to reveal itself in 1954 during bulldozer operations to create an earthen dam, but it took twenty years before the site was properly investigated.
