Thayer County Historical Society and Museum has a new online home at the below URL. We plan to bring you a great cross section of what the Museum has to offer, as well as details of all upcoming events. If you’re interested in Thayer County and its history – this will be the place to be. If you have any suggestions on what you would like to see, please feel free to email us and I’ll see what I can do about implementing them.
The Thayer County Museum and Historical Society is working to provide an online list of what is available in the archives. This will be of great interest and benefit to anyone working on genealogy projects. We also plan to start posting some of the amazing images that are part of the collection, but rarely seen by the public.
We have many photos of old sports teams, storm damage – even the Hebron Bicycle Club! The public is welcome to visit the archives during regular hours or by appointment. Please stop by and see what we have.
The new Agricultural Building on Museum Grounds will be dedicated on October 3rd, 2010, This will coincide with the Annual Fall Fair.The building was made possible by generous donations from the Tom and Zola Griffen estate as well as the John A. Murrell Estate. Construction is still ongoing with a concrete floor to be added soon. This building will house some of the many vehicles and antique machinery that are in the Museum’s collection. Check out this fine building the next time you visit the Museum.
