Description

The Duncan Center provides history of people, places and events including genealogical resources. In additon to permanent exhibits like our coal room and Victorian and Native American exhibit, we also have rotating monthly exhibits of art or special collections. The museum offers art classes and is available to rent for parties, showers and meetings.

History

Hamilton Richarson Duncan donated this lovely 1912 home to the city of Greenville in 1986. The house became the Duncan Cultural Center in 1989. The house was designed by Joseph and Joseph architects out of Louisville. Beautiful original features such as built in beaveled glass bookcases, inlaid hardwood flooring and stained glass bay windows still grace the Center today.

Artifact Collections

The Center provides a Coal Museum, Native American and Victorian exhibit, local celebrities room, and many other artifacts from the late 19th and early 20th century.

Programs

The Center currently offers art classes in various mediums, mock archaeological digs, a scavenger hunt in our coal museum.
