Description

The National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial provides an extraordinary experience. The state-of-the-art Museum gives you the chance to explore and discover the nation’s most extensive assembly of artifacts, photography, art and narratives of the Great War ever presented in a single collection. The Museum introduces the war in unprecedented ways – through visual and audio sensory stimulation to mold an unforgettable experience in the minds of all visitors – young and old.

The Museum is also open on major holidays which fall on a Monday. In 2011 this includes January 17 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day), February 21 (Presidents Day), May 30 (Memorial Day), July 4 (Independence Day), September 5 (Labor Day) and December 26.

The research library and collections are available to the public for research use. The library is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The collections are available for research use by appointment with the Museum Archivist at (816) 784-1932 or the Museum Curator at (816) 784-1930.

The Over There Cafe offers sandwiches, pizza, salads, soups, snacks, and desserts named for people and places of the Great War.
