The Tucker County Historical Society is a non-profit organization that serves Tucker County West Virginia.

Mission

The objectives & mission of the Society is to promote the discovery, collection, preservation, restoration, and dissemination of knowledge of everything relating to the history, antiquities, art, and literature of Tucker County and West Virginia including preservation and restoration of old buildings and landmarks and the promotion of historical and genealogical research.

History

1st organized in February 1926 operated for several years and then due to the Great Depression and Wars was inactive. In the 1970's it was restarted by Maxine Morgan and named the Hambleton Historical Preservation Society, In 1982 the Society changed its name to the Tucker County Historical Society.
