Description

An Environmental Science Museum and Exotic Wildlife Rescue Facility.

STAR ECO Station is a 501(c)(3) non-profit 18,000 sq-ft environmental science museum and exotic wildlife rescue facility in Culver City that provides environmental education field trips, gifted and talented instruction, classroom instruction, after-school enrichment, school assemblies and community events that annually reach over one million learners of all ages. Through a partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, STAR ECO Station rescues and houses "at-risk" and endangered exotic wildlife. With a mission of “Preservation Through Education,” STAR ECO Station is dedicated to creating “a new breed of environmental heroes” committed to protecting the Earth’s resources.

Visitors study ecology and environmentalism on a breathtaking encounter with rescued tropical birds, exotic reptiles, wildcats, ocean life and 15 educational displays, including the Santa Monica Bay Keeper’s walk-thru Kelp Forest display. The STAR ECO Station is open to the public on weekends for hands-on eco-educational tours, providing quality environmental science education aligned with California State Standards.
