History

The U. S. Border Patrol Museum and Memorial Library started in 1985 at the Cortez building in downtown El Paso. A new location was secured in 1993 with funding to construct a new museum. Construction began in April 1993 and finished in November 1993. The grand opening was in February 1994. Today, the museum exhibits many aspects of Border Patrol activities throughout the U.S.

Research Collections

Various books on Border Patrol history, law, and immigration law. These books will be available for research.

Educational Programs

One-hour tours, scheduled in advance, conducted by staffperson with the assistance of the K-9 and/or RAD (ROBOT) when available; not available for loan. We also have a 12 - 15 minute videos which are shown during guided tours or when requested.

Publications

Brochures are sent out to tourist agencies on a monthly basis, and museum flyers are sent to sectors throughout the United States. The gift shop catalogue is sent upon request, or is available at the museum. A newsletter is currently in development.
