Description

If you are looking for a way to spend an afternoon or would like to schedule a formal, guided tour of the Forsyth’s collection and exhibits, please contact Trudy Holladay, Program Coordinator at 979/458-5460 or at tholladay@msc.tamu.edu

The MSC Forsyth Center Galleries, one of Texas A&M University’s art museums, is home to the Bill and Irma Runyon Art Collections. The scope of the Runyon Collection includes a world-class selection of English Cameo glass, Tiffany and Steuben glass, and other important 19th and 20th century art glass. Also included are important American paintings featuring works by members of The Eight, Winslow Homer, Childe Hassam, Thomas Moran, and Frederic Remington. To provide our guests the greatest access to the Runyon Collection, we rotate our display of Runyon Collection objects three times per year.

Educational Programs

DOCENTS Docents learn about the Forsyth’s collection, give tours, attend gallery events, and may participate in art related field trips. Be a part of a group of people who enjoy the same things you do- ART! To join our docents program or for more information contact Trudy Holladay at 979.458.5460 or email tholladay@msc.tamu.edu. ART THURSDAYS The galleries stay open late each Thursday to give more people an opportunity to visit the exhibits. Often times those evenings will be filled with workshops, receptions, tours, and art demonstrations presented by local artists or scholars. Join us on each third Thursday night for guest speakers. These lectures are free and open to the public. They will vary depending on the speaker but always have some sort of tie to the arts.
