Montana Masonic Museum

Description

Located on a former placer mining claim in the Last Chance Gulch area of Helena. The Cornerstone was laid on July 18, 1936. Since that time the Museum has enjoyed a growth and partronage that distinguishes is as a respectable museum with colecitons of early Montana and Masonic History in Montana.

History

The Montana Masonic Musuem is operated by the Montana Masonic Foundation, Inc. which is is part of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Montana which was established in 1866.

Artifact Collections

Items of early American history, early Montana history and the role of the Freemasons in the devleopment of Montana.There are extensive collections from the American Revolution to the present, Masonic jewels made of Montana gold and silver, regalia, paintings, engravings, photographs and ephemera.

Research Collections

Books and manuscripts the olderst book contained was published in 1740. Also hand written manuscripts of early state history.

Programs

Tours, lectures and educaitonal progtrams are offered.
