The Museum is a progression of transportation from the first bicycles, to the Wright Brother's Bicycle Shop and their Wright Flyer, into the rich aviation history of Monroe County, and into outer space with Mercury 7 Astronaut Donald Kent "Deke" Slayton.

Bicycle: Antique, vintage and Collectible, more than 80 are on display at one time

Monroe County Aviation History: Histories of local Monroe County Aviators, Radio Control Flyers, 1/4 scale model of the Wright Flyer, and full scale model of a 1932 Pietenpol AirCamper Airplane.

Deke Slayton: Deke's Mercury 7 Space Suit, Ambassador of Exploration Award including a lunar sample, and much more.

Programs

Education modules are available for pre-school to adult, ranging from an "Interactive Astronaut Story" to "Sheet Metal101: Home-built Airplanes. ($1.00 per child no charge for adult chaperones.) Additional educational programming includes 4-5 Teas annually (cost $7.00) Open Forum: Take a Poem to Lunch (No Charge) and annually 3-4 Evenings at the Museum (No Charge)
