Description

The Camden County Historical Society provides a research and genealogy library, two story Camden County Museum that interprets the history of Camden City and Camden County from the Lenape Indians to the present and Pomona Hall a historic, colonial mansion that was the home of the Cooper family. Originally built in 1726 and expanded in 1788 the home is furnished in period appropriate furnishings and tells the story of the daily lives of the Cooper family.

History

The Camden County Historical Society is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1899. The Society moved to Pomona Hall in the early 1920's and eventually built both the research library and museum on the property.

Historic artifacts from Camden City and Camden County's history as well as the Southern New Jersey area.

Research Collections

Genealogy, cemetery records, church records, obituaries, city directories, maps, deeds, manuscripts, newspapers on microfilm, vertical, photographs, pamphlets, books, other.
