Description

Tell the story of the development of the automobile. There is no other invention, excluding perhaps electricity, that has so impacted our lives as the automobile. Why, how, when, where, these are the stories our docents tell our visitors.

Mission

Our mission is to be the center of automotive activity in the community by preserving, promoting and teaching automotive culture and its influence on our lives.

History

Please see History section of our web page. We are a private non-profit organization.
For the first 10 years we displayed a complete collection of the first 50 years of Ford and was called the Towe Ford Museum. In late 1987 we expanded to all makes and became the Towe Auto Museum. We are a membership organization depending upon our many volunteers to do much of the work of the museum.

Artifact Collections

Our vehicles are mostly privately owned. The museum owns 25% of the vehicles displayed. We also have available a very large collection of literature, magazines, books and sales material available in the library. As well the museum has a small collection of other assorted car related items including costumes.

Research Collections

Library magazines, books, sales literature, prints other vehicle related literature and videos.

Educational Programs

Annual education tour = week long trip to area with many collections of vehicles and related attractions.
Automotive classes varies each year.
Children classes on gasoline engines.
