Located on the ground floor of the historic Casino Building in Avalon, the Catalina Island Museum explores the Island's rich cultural heritage. Permanent exhibits illustrate unique elements of Catalina's history including its evolution as a resort community, its role as the Chicago Cubs Spring Training venue, its links to Hollywood, and its prominence in the decorative tile and pottery industry. Docent led, tile walking tours are offered at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays (reservations required). Annual events include a Silent Film Benefit in June, a Tile and Pottery Extravaganza in September, and an Open House at Mt. Ada in December.
