The Boyle County Genealogical Association of Danville, Kentucky, would like to invite you to our meetings every third Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm, unless indicated differently on the Calendar page. The meeting location is the Perryville United Methodist Church Life Center, Second Street, Perryville, KY, unless otherwise noted. Everyone is welcome to come hear interesting speakers, members or not.
Those of us who attended the Cemetery Preservation Conference in Perryville in October are very concerned about the condition of our historic Boyle County Cemeteries. We are planning in the spring to work on some of the cemeteries using the skills that we learned in this conference. If any of you are interested in helping with the projects, please contact us. We will be happy to share some of the information we learned with you and help restore private cemeteries that may be located on your own property. Some restoration work has been started on the Old Union Cemetery and we appreciate the efforts of those who have been doing this important work. There is still much work that needs to be done in our county to honor those pioneers and citizens who have built this wonderful place to live.

Boyle County, Kentucky, was formed in 1842 from the southern portion of Mercer County. Mercer County had been formed in 1786 from a part of Lincoln County. Casey County was formed in 1806 from Lincoln County. Lincoln County was one of the three original counties formed from Kentucky County, Virginia, in 1780. The main migration route to Lincoln County was through the Cumberland Gap from Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

The Boyle County Genealogical Association still has available copies of The Boyle County, Kentucky, Cemetery Records 1792-1992 . This hardback book has information concerning over 22,000 burials during the years 1792-1992 in the Boyle county cemeteries.
