Description

As you stroll about the Fillmore Historical Museum you will find four historical buildings with treasures from the early days in the Santa Clara valley.

The Hinckley House, a 1905 Craftsman-style home was designed and built for Fillmore’s first dentist, Ira Hinckley and his family.

Our 1887 Southern Pacific Railroad depot, restored in 2007, was one of the important buildings in the area. People brought freight and produce to be shipped, and passengers boarded the train to Los Angeles or other destinations.

The 1919 Rancho Sespe Bunkhouse was originally used as a dormitory by farm laborers on the Rancho Sespe Mexican land grant rancho. You will also be delighted with an original Bardsdale post office, a small building used to collect, sort and dispense mail in the late 1800’s

History

Our museum was established in 1970. Thousands of volunteer hours have been donated in the restoring and furnishing the buildings. We appreciate each and every item and volunteer.
