Napa Valley Museum brings together collections of art, history and natural science under one roof to tell the extraordinary stories of Napa Valley and its people. Art exhibitions feature the work of local and national artists. Content originates from private collections and artist studios and is borrowed from museums, galleries, and other sources. Since our founding in 1972, our goal has been to integrate history and art into the lives of people

Tours

Tours are a great way to get together with your club or group. Spend the day with friends and learn about the culture and environment of the Napa Valley Region. Please ask for details and reservations.

Situated in the beautiful town of Yountville opposite the Lincoln Theater, Napa Valley Museum offers a spectacular space for your next event. Our unique facility accommodates any type of gathering from formal sit-down dinners to elegant cocktail parties. FOR FAMILIES

Napa Valley Museum’s Family Fun Days are a fantastic way to share great family moments and have a little fun, too! The event, held on the second Saturday of every month, gives children an opportunity to have fun while also having an exceptional learning experience. Family Fun Day includes family gallery guides and art or history activities and crafts. Reservations are recommended for all Family Fun Day activities. Please call (707) 944-0500.

Volunteer

We welcome your interest in the Volunteer Program at the Napa Valley Museum. Volunteer positions are available for dependable, friendly, service-driven individuals, who share our passion for the art, history, and environment of the Napa Valley. We have many volunteer and intern positions and will make every effort to match your talents and interests with our needs.

Mission

Napa Valley Museum is dedicated to promoting the cultural and environmental heritage of the Napa Valley. Our changing exhibits represent a diverse range of subjects from fine arts to history to natural sciences. We are committed to presenting exhibits that will entertain and educate our local community and visitors from around the world.

History

The museum was founded in 1978 to preserve the art and historic collections of the Napa Valley region, and moved to its current Yountville location in 1998.

Artifact Collections

Our museum hold in trust a vast array of Native American artifacts such as obsidian points, scrapers, and arrowheads, grinding bowls and baskets, early pioneer artifacts such as clothing, household implements, books, jewelry, etc,.

Research Collections

We have a vast repository of journals, books, articles about the Native Americans, Mexican and Eastern American pioneers who settled the Napa Valley.

Educational Programs

Docent programs, gallery tours, workshops educational outreach programs presented to schools.
