The Museum of the Everglades: a restored laundry building. Exhibits reflect a frontier village which was home to Seminole Indians, rugged trailblazers and plume hunters. Listed on the National Register.
The Museum of the Everglades is a non-profit, educational institution, governed by the Collier County Government. The museum's mission is to research, preserve, present and teach the human history of the Southwest Florida Everglades Region through publications, exhibitions, lectures, and programs. The institution preserves and maintains an original commercial structure (a 1927 Laundry) in the County's first Seat, Everglades City, which serves as a museum and houses its collections.
