The Smoki Museum, constructed in 1935 with WPA and CCC funds was built to resemble a Hopi Pueblo structure. Our 5,000 square foot gallery houses a collection of artifacts, baskets, pottery and lithics from many Southwestern tribes. We also feature the largest collection of Kate Cory paintings in the USA.

Special exhibits feature items from our collection, as well as Indian artists from the Southwest. Occasionally exhibits feature private collections as well.

Docent Tours available upon request. Meeting Room available for rental.

Artifact Collections

Pottery, lithics, baskets, Kate Cory paintings, building on the National Register of Historic Places, special exhibits. Focus on Soutwest Indian Tribes.

Research Collections

Library - focused on Southwest Indian art and culture.
Oral histories of Prescott's Smoki People.
Archives of Prescott's Smoki People.

Educational Programs

Workshops on Indian arts and crafts. Once per year (May) Southwest indain Art Festival (Dancing, songs, vending artists, etc.) Two major auctions per year - Navajo Rugs (March) and Navajo Rugs and Indian Art (July).
