Description

A local Alabama history museum exhibiting over 15,000 artifacts from Cherokee County Alabama. Beginning in 2009, all exhibits will begin an upgrade in both presentation and content for continuing public display.

History

1958 Cherokee County Historical Society organized. 1987 Cherokee County Historical Museum opened.

Artifact Collections

15,000 plus artifacts of all types in Museum collections: photos,media,fine and folk art, and all sorts of local historical items. The main floor is accessible and open to all visitors. The other 2 floors are not accessible and are open to Museum members only.

Research Collections

All collections are open for research opportunities.
