The mission of the Des Moines County Historical Society is to educate and communicate to residents and visitors the history and creative spirit of those who have lived in the area known as Des Moines County, Iowa.
Collections ranging from 250 million years ago (Burlington is the crinoid capital of the world!) to the present, and everything in between!
We offer school tours, and tours for groups and organizations. We also offer ongoing educational programs, and children's outreach programs.
