Mission

The mission of the Wilder Memorial Museum is to preserve and maintain collections reflecting the heritage of the people of Strawberry Point, Iowa and the surrounding communities, promoting education and increasing awareness of the culture and diversity of Northeast Iowa.

History

The Wilder Memorial Museum was established in 1970 as the House of Dolls to maintain the tremendous doll collection of two local sisters. The museum then expanded by adding two large rooms to house the diverse collections of local residents. The rarity and beauty of these collections would rival those found in any large city as stated by many of our visitors.

Artifact Collections

Military items dating back to the Revolutionary War. Geological display including fossils such as a mastodon tooth. Victorian childs' exhibit with Civil War era blocks.
