The purpose of the museum is to preserve and promote the history of Clinton County by interpreting historical artifacts for its residents and interested persons.
The Clinton County Historical Museum has a research library which is open to the public during Museum hours. Information and photographs of Clinton County history are available. Look-ups are done for a very small charge, and donations are always welcome.
The Clinton County Historical Society was established in 1965 to promote and preserve the history of Clinton County. To achieve these goals, the Society has several activities including the Clinton County Historical Museum, Living History Day and tours to historic sites in the county.
