A growing ethnic museum focusing on the German-American in the Midwest. Located in an historic immigrant hotel, this museum explores German American immigration to the United States on the impact these individuals and their descendents had on regional development.

History

Founded in 1994, the German American Heritage Center has undertaken the restoration of a former immigrant hotel. The first floor has been open to the public as a museum and gift shop since 2001. The second floor will be opened as a museum and library in July 2005.

Artifact Collections

Wide collection of artifacts brought over or used by early German American immigrants. Including photos, portrits, pictures, books, documents, trunks, glassware, and more.

Educational Programs

Educational programs include school programs/children's programs grades pre-k thru 12. Monthly educational programming and events are offered at the Center. Private groups tours or programs on or off site are available. Please contact for fees.
