Naples Historical Society, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, is considered the Central Voice of Naples History. The mission is to preserve Naples history and heritage for the community and future generations to enjoy. That mission is accomplished through five (5) preservation initiatives and ten (10) cleverly crafted educational programs. All educational programs are based at Historic Palm Cottage, Naples oldest house. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Historic Palm Cottage features docent-guided tours of the house museum, The Norris Gardens at Palm Cottage, and walking tours of the Naples Historic District. Other wildly popular programs include a children's educational program called Pupils at Palm Cottage, Garden Side Chickee Chats lecture series, Speaker's Bureau, Christmas at Palm Cottage, The 10 Days of Christmas, Telly award winning oral history film, archival repository endeavors and accompanying Archival Viewing Center.

History

Founded in 1962, and originally incorporated as the Collier County Historical Society--now Naples Historical Society--NHS has a forward-thinking and dedicated governing Board of Directors, a strong volunteer base and a membership base that has grown substantially over the last few years and is very supportive. Docent-guided Tours of Historic Palm Cottage - the Portal to Naples History

Built in 1895 (Naples oldest house) and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Historic Palm Cottage offers an historic view of life in a 3500 square foot house museum. Tour includes access to The Norris Garden and the Archival Viewing Center where visitors can watch a Telly award winning film, highlighting Naples History.

Admission is $13 for adults, children under 10 FREE, MEMBERS FREE. Visit the Society's website for more information about the Society's educational programs and to reserve your a space for a tour on a date and time of your choosing. Guided Walking Tours of Naples Historic District

A 2 hour walking tour of Naples Historic District offers visitors a glimpse of early Neapolitan life. Starts with a 30 minute tour of Historic Palm Cottage.

Docent-guided walking tours are offered every Wednesday at 9:30 am. Reservations required at www.NaplesHistoricalSociety.org. Admission is $22/Members $16.
