Mission

The Museum of Indian Culture is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to presenting, preserving, and perpetuating the history and cultural heritage of the Northeastern Woodland Indians and other American Indian tribes.

History

The Museum of Indian Culture was founded in 1980. It is located in a 19th-century stone farmhouse in the Lehigh Parkway. For over 30 years, the Museum has provided educational programs, special events, and guided tours to visitors from across the Northeast United States who are interested in the history of America's Native peoples.

Artifact Collections

The Museum curates a large collection of Native American artifacts, including stone, bone, and pottery from a Pennsylvania rockshelter excavation; beaded garments; over 90 kachina dolls inspired by Hopi designs; twined and coiled baskets from California; an authentic Plains war shirt; and much more.

Research Collections

All the Museum's collections are available for research upon request. The Museum also maintains a 1500-book library on the full range of Native American topics, including history, current political issues, archaeology, crafts, herbals and cooking, and treaties.
