The LCHS offers a variety of activities for members, including educational programs, field trips, and special events. The Society also hosts an annual Heritage Day celebration in October, which features a variety of demonstrations and presentations on local history.
The LCHS is committed to preserving the history of Lindsay and the surrounding area, and welcomes new members and volunteers who are interested in helping to preserve the community’s history.
The Lindsay Community Historical Society (LCHS) was established in 1986 and strives to preserve the history of the Lindsay, Oklahoma community.
The museum features an extensive collection of artifacts related to the history of Lindsay and the surrounding area, including photographs, documents, and other memorabilia.
The Society maintains an extensive archive of family histories, school records, and other documents.
The LCHS maintains a museum in the former home of the late Judge C.Y. Gossett, which is located at 220 West Miller Street in Lindsay.
The Society meets the third Tuesday of each month in the Lindsay Public Library, located in the historic Lindsay Carnegie Library building.
The LCHS also publishes a quarterly newsletter, which features articles about the history of Lindsay and the surrounding area.
