It shall be the mission of the Owasso Historical Museum to collect, preserve, and exhibit objects and materials relating to the history of the city of Owasso and surrounding area, and to provide related educational services for the purpose of increasing and enriching public knowledge of the history and heritage of the area.
The Owasso Historical Society was founded in 1979, & purchased the historic Komma Building on Main Street in 1988. THe building was refurbished & opened as the Owasso Historical Museum. In early 2003, the City of Owasso took over the facility and the day-to-day operations & maintenance. A member of the city staff is officed at the museum to oversee the operations and maintenance & coordinate volunteers - most of whom are Historical Society members.

Tours (scouts, schools, etc) and programs presented away from the museum to scouts, schools, nursing homes, etc. Educationsal materials are not loaned.
