Description

The Hallie Ford Museum of Art is housed in a 27,000 square foot facility. It includes four permanent galleries and two temporary exhibition spaces. Permanent galleries focus on European, Asian, and American art; Native American art; historic and contemporary regional art; and European, Asian, and American works on paper. Temporary exhibitions feature historic and contemporary art.

Mission

The Hallie Ford Museum of Art exists to support the liberal arts curriculum of Willamette University, and to serve as an intellectual, cultural, and artistic resource for Salem and the mid-Willamette Valley, through the collection, preservation, exhibition, and interpretation of historical and contemporary art, with an emphasis on the art of our region.

History

Artifact Collections

The Hallie Ford Museum of Art maintains collections of European, Asian, and American art; Native American art; regional art; and European, Asian, and American works on paper.

Educational Programs

The Hallie Ford Museum of Art offers docent guided tours of its permanent collections and temporary exhibitions, as well as lectures, films, artist demonstrations, storytelling sessions, and performances related to its temporary exhibitions.
