Description

Four displays of museum artifacts are located throughout Chilton in an effort to bring history into the community for year-round education and enjoyment.

A long-term on-loan display of historic hub caps and license plates decorate a wall in the Chilton Department of Transportation office on Chestnut Street.

A store front next to Hilde’s Deli & Bakery on West Main Street in Chilton features an eclectic array of home and agricultural pieces which are rotated on a regular basis.

The Chilton Public Library entrance area display case is home to a monthly rotating theme based display and a small bookcase at the south end of the library features historic books.

The newest display case at the Calumet County Courthouse purchased in 2013 courtesy of a Chilton Area Community Foundation grant features diverse items of interest throughout the county.

Celebrating our rich historic heritage with the community continues to grow with annual pedestrian traffic reaching over 25,000 people. View the displays and celebrate with Calumet County Historical Society.

Artifact Collections

We are always looking for anything that will be a great addition to our museum but because we have been around for a long time and have so much and only so much space we have to be careful. However we are always looking for anything that that has a connection to Calumet County, to someone from the county or maybe just is a great story connected to our great county. Let us know what you have and anything you know about the article, names and stories that might go with it and pictures are great!

Governance

Meetings are held at the Chilton Library 4 times a year starting in October, and ending before June. Anyone is welcome and encouraged to attend (email if you are interested in attending for exact date)

Services
Your Support

The Calumet County Historical Society has three sources of financial support: your membership, donations and our brat fry. Your membership is an important way for you to help. Membership is a financial donation to the organization, but it is also a way to get involved in meetings and the operation of the Museum. Your participation at meetings and events will help you to make a difference in the community.
