Admission for the house tour is $6 for adults, $4 for students and seniors and children under 5 are free.

Description

Putnam Cottage is a lovely colonial home that dates back to the early 1700s. It is furnished with period antiques and artifacts and inludes a colonial herb garden and carriage shed. Located on the Boston Post Road, it has been a tourist destination for almost 100 years. George Washington actually ate here!

Artifact Collections

Period furniture and artifacts of the colonial period.

Educational Programs

Annual Good Citizen awards given to local students, History Essay contest, Elementary School tours, Girl Scout patch certifications, historic lectures, Holiday candlelight tours and annual battle reenactment in February.

Governance

The cottage is maintained by the Putnam Hill Chapter of the D.A.R. through the Israel Putnam House Association, LLC.
