Haddam Historical Society is a growing and community based organization which owns and operates the Thankful Arnold House Museum. The museum tells the story of an early 19th century CT River Valley wife and mother who faced tragedy and adversity but kept her family together and home intact.

History

Society founded in 1955 and museum opened in 1965.

Objects, manuscripts, photographs and archives related to history of Haddam, Higganum and Haddam Neck.

Research Collections

Reference files with information on the history of Haddam, Higganum and Haddam Neck.

Programs

School programs for local school system grades 2 through 7. Adult educational programs quarterly including Old House Enthusiasts Group, HOuse Tours, History Walking Tours, Local History Lectures and other.
