Description

Treehouse Children's Museum is a hands-on museum that invites children, families, and schools, to "step into a story."™ Treehouse has a beautiful, new facility with a giant, 30-foot-tall tree at its center. Around the tree, on two levels, are exhibits that share stories from our community, our country, and from around the world. Programming encourages children and adults to learn more, star in a story on stage, develop vocabulary, and appreciate cultures.

History

Treehouse Museum opened in 1992 in the Ogden City Mall. It moved to a temporary home in 2001 and then to a beautiful, award-winning building, the Elizabeth Stewart Treehouse Museum, in 2006.

Artifact Collections

Treehouse has a collection of more than 1000 collector's dolls, and hundreds of World Folk Dolls. The Museum also has a collection of Native American Artifacts including pots, weavings and arrowheads and sandals. Some artifacts are hundreds of years old. Treehouse also has extensive storybook, folk masks, puppet and costume collections.

Educational Programs

Treehouse offers family programming, preschool programs, field trips, teacher workshops, member classes, exhibit talks, plays and storytimes.

Publications

Treehouse publishes a quarterly newsletter and an annual report.
