History

The Museum of Uintah County is an educational institution that curates and preserves a collection of historical objects from the time of the first peoples to the present. It offers an enjoyable family experience that chronicles the activities of all of the peoples of the Uinta Basin, teaching visitors the values of a diverse and dynamic populace.

The museum engages the community and promotes cultural heritage programs through a series of tours, workshops, themed art shows and exhibitions

First People's Exhibit, Local History Exhibits, First Lady Dolls Exhibit, Gun Collection, Art Galleries

First Peoples Exhibit: The First Peoples exhibit is home to traditional clothing, tools, pottery, and beadwork. Come learn more about the First People who inhabit(ed) the Uinta Basin and surrounding areas.
Local History Exhibits​: We have many exhibits about the county's past, and the people who have become the prominent figures we know today.
First Lady Dolls Exhibit: The First Lady dolls are some of the most unique and beautifully made displays in Utah. Hand-crafted and painstakingly stitched, these dolls are a must see for any group.
Gun Collection​: Our gun collection includes a variety of firearms through the years, showcasing the craftsmanship and structural design of each era.
Art Gallery: Come see our rotating exhibits. Check our calendar or our social media for updates to see what will be on display while planning your visit.

We offer adult and family centered programming. We have events several times a month. We also offer school tours for any age group.

SUMMER READING WITH THE LIBRARY

Every summer, the Uintah County Library hosts an all inclusive summer reading program to promote reading, learning, and fun for everyone.

This program will begin on the first Tuesday in June! It will start at 10:00 am and end at 12:00 pm in the downstairs Conference Room in Library.
