John Marshall House

The home, built by Chief Justice John Marshall in 1790, is an outstanding example of Federal architecture retaining many of its original features. It contains a rich collection of memorabilia and Marshall family objects.

John Fox Jr. Museum

The John Fox, Jr. house, a Virginia Historical landmark serves as both a museum and a memorial to the Fox family. The house was built in 1888, and is filled with beautiful furnishings and mementos of the family. Here, the author, John Fox, Jr., wrote 'The Trail of the Lonesome Pine', 14 other full length novels, in addition to more than 500 short stories. Guided tours are conducted through the house.

Jumbo Antique Fire Engine Museum houses the only remaining 1911 Robinson Chemical Fire Engine. The museum, founded in 1982 houses a collection of fire service items, some from the Civil War era. Exhibits a 911 Robinson Chemical Fire Engine and other fire-service related items.
