The center has a large gallery for our monthly juried All-Media Show, 64 artist's studios, and the Mezzanine Gallery where we host seven Single-Artist shows a month. Date July 5, 2003. The Shockoe Bottom Arts Center has become the Petersburg Regional Art Center. The lease was up in Richmond and the City of Petersburg offered us a very nice building in Old Town Petersburg.

The United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) was founded as the United States Slow-pitch Softball Association in the spring 1968. Over that last weekend of August 1968 the first USSSA World Softball Tournament was played in West Allis Wisconsin. Over the past 40 years USSSA has grown from a couple of thousand slow-pitch softball players to over 3.5 million participants playing 13 primary sports. In fact, USSSA sanctions teams and individuals in 38 sports.

Pocahontas Island Black History Museum, located on the historic Pocahontas Island in Petersburg, VA, once a stop on the Underground Railroad, is home to a treasure trove of artifacts and other historical items of interest that showcases over 200 years of Black history. Black History and Civil War expert, Mr. Richard Stewart, is the museum's founder and orator who delights in taking museum visitors on an oral journey of Black history in Petersburg, VA.
